INFACO tying machines : old and new generations

What are the differences?

INFACO, French manufacturer and market leader in professional tools for winegrowers and arboriculturists, is offering a new, latest-generation tying machine (or binder, or folding machine). It's based on a completely innovative process and technique, just like the competition and even the brand's previous model. We take a look at the differences that make it so strong in the field and so easy to use.

The AT1000 is innovative

  • The new INFACO binding machine is based on a DOUBLE drive roller system that limits jams.
  • The binder is powerful, reliable and fast. It increases efficiency on tying sites.
  • It has a unique knotting principle: a turnstile spins the knot, activating an internal knife which cuts the wire and releases the tie.
  • Its spout remains static and does not rotate with each tie as on the A3M, making it quicker to use and versatile enough for all environments (see below).

The AT1000 is ergonomic

  • The grip on the binder is identical to that on INFACO's electric pruning shears, and the weights are balanced throughout the machine, unlike those on "pistol" models.
  • The battery is removable, and is easy to clip on and off.
  • The coil is attached to the belt, so it doesn't add weight to the machine like the A3M.
  • Thanks to the weight distribution on the tool, it weighs just 615g, unlike the previous model which weighed 650g. A difference of just a few grams, which weighs a lot over a day's folding and helps to reduce musculoskeletal disorders.
  • The binder clips onto a hook on the carrying belt, leaving your hands free when you need them.

The AT1000 is easy to use and maintain

  • The tool is 100% automatic, triggered by pressing the trigger.
  • The binder's battery promises an autonomy of 8,000 fasteners, compared with 7,000 on the A3M.
  • The binder is 'single-block', so if it is opened, no part can fall out.
  • The machine is easy to open for servicing: just press on the cover to access the wire and release it (without tools).

The AT1000 is suitable for all environments

  • This bending machine has a wide spout opening, making it versatile for both vineyards (single or double guyot, arching, chablis, trellising, etc.) and arboriculture (raspberry or kiwi, etc.).
  • It offers 4 levels of adjustable tendril. From 1 to 3, the tie will make between 2 and 7 tendrils. Level 4 frees up more length for larger diameters;
  • Four wire sizes are available to suit all climates: 2 x 0.36, 0.36, 0.40 and 0.44mm.
  • The AT1000 is available in a 36V version with a back-up battery (compatible with F3020 pruning shears / F3015 pruning shears) to optimise our customers' tool fleets.

Wire spools for the binder

  • The spools on the latest INFACO machine are made of wire wrapped in degradable paper, unlike the old machine which used simple bare wire. The reels are still made in our factory in France.
  • A new-generation reel can make 3,000 ties, whereas the old one could only make 900.
  • The spool is unwound from the inside, without jerking. This means it remains static and there's no need to give it any slack.
  • Changing the spool is quick and easy, taking just 30 seconds.
