In the demanding world of winegrowing, every gesture counts in producing quality wine. Valérie Guérin, a passionate winemaker at the Domaine des Mille Vignes in La Palme in the Aude department, knows the importance of meticulous work that respects the terroir and traditions. With an artisanal approach and a constant quest for excellence, she oversees every stage of the wine cycle. Among the tools she uses are the F3020 pruning shears and the AT1000 tying machine, which play an essential role in late pruning and tying.
The history of the Domaine des Mille Vignes dates back to 1979, when Valérie Guérin 's father planted 1,000 vines. Today, this estate produces exceptional wines, often compared to the great names and even nicknamed the 'Pétrus of the Languedoc'. Valérie explains: "There are no second wines here, everything is carefully cared for in the heart of a semi-wild environment.
The Domaine des Mille Vignes has forged an international reputation. Its wines, matured according to the rules of the art, are enjoyed far beyond the Languedoc, and can be found on the menus of Michelin-starred restaurants or in the cellars of wine-lovers in Paris and around the world. Each bottle embodies the meticulous work of the Guérin family, rooted in respect for the terroir.
In this estate, the young vines are pruned and tied late, just as the sap is about to rise. This technique distributes the flow of sap more evenly along the wire, ensuring that the vines develop harmoniously and the flow of sap is more evenly distributed.
Thanks to its manoeuvrability, the AT1000 can be used to create an arch shape, which is essential for guiding the sap and ensuring that the vines develop properly.
In an agricultural sector (and winegrowing in particular!) where local roots are a strength, choosing a tying machine made in France makes perfect sense.
"I make wine with local grape varieties, on French soil, so it seems obvious to me to use a tool designed in my country", explains Valérie Guérin. In addition to its commitment to local production, the machine boasts a number of major advantages:
This is the essential tool for estates seeking to combine tradition and modernity. It allows winegrowers to gain in precision, time and efficiency, and to adopt an approach that is more respectful of the environment.
