INFACO wins a new innovation medal at Viteff

INFACO, the pioneer of professional electric pruning shears, has just won another innovation medal (in the Corporate Social Responsibility category) at the Sparkling Wine Trade Fair for its Contactless safety system. This prize adds to an already impressive list of awards for our company, which has been recognised for over 40 years for its advances in Research & Development in agriculture (viticulture, arboriculture, olive growing, landscaping, green spaces, livestock farming, etc.).

With this award, INFACO has once again confirmed its position as a leader in safety and performance.

Contactless: a revolutionary advance in vineyard protection

The Contactless device represents a major advance in protection for pruners, particularly in wine and fruit growing. Unlike traditional systems, it requires no conductive gloves or wires. Thanks to on-board technology, the pruning shears automatically detect the opposite hand approaching the blade and instantly open the cut to avoid any accidents by anticipating the danger.

This system creates a "protective bubble" around the cutting head, adjustable in three sizes via the INFACO mobile app or directly on the pruning shear. The tool effectively protects pruners while respecting their working habits and comfort.

The other winners at Viteff 2025

At Viteff 2025, five innovative projects were rewarded for their contribution to the wine sector. In addition to INFACO's medal, the competition highlighted :

  • Mytik Diam in the Oenology category: desorption of corks to avoid altering the organoleptic qualities of wine and preserve the freshness of sparkling wines (presentation video available on Youtube)
  • Fl@.cd in the Technological Innovation category: automation of crating with a compact 3-in-1 machine designed for the European pallet (Presentation video available on Youtube)
  • Hello Nature France in the Viticulture category: use of Keylan iron against iron chlorosis, for optimum absorption and long availability of iron in the soil (Presentation video available on Youtube)
  • Compas & Vitivisio: invention of the Vitivisio sensor, which analyses the colour, shape and density of foliage in real time using deep learning AI. It detects abnormal vines, in particular symptoms of flavescence dorée, and maps the data to centimetre accuracy (presentation video available on Youtube).

These awards underline the creativity and commitment of the sector and confirm the sparkling wine exhibition as a key showcase for research and development. INFACO would like to warmly thank the show, Epernay Agglo Champagne, the members of the Viteff jury and especially the Mumm vineyards for selecting our entry in the Corporate Social Responsibility category.

❓frequently asked questions❓

This is the international sparkling wine technology trade show, a benchmark event dedicated to innovations in the wine industry, and more specifically the sparkling wine sector. It showcases projects and technologies that improve the performance, safety and comfort of vine and wine professionals. Held every two years at the Millesium in Épernay (near Reims in the Marne region of Champagne), it is a key venue for exploring the latest technical advances, such as the F3020 pruning shears with INFACO’s Contactless device.
The Contactless safety device works by anticipating danger, using a receiver in the pruning shears and a glove with a transmitter. A protective bubble forms around the cutting head of the pruning shears: when the opposite hand gets too close, the blade opens instantly. A real invisible protection, this contactless device promises to re-educate the cutting gesture in complete safety. The option has three protection zones that can be set directly from the pruning shears or the INFACO mobile application (to be combined with an optional connected box) according to the pruner’s hand. The oval-shaped protection zone has been designed to follow the curves of the hand and maintain working habits.
  • The wired DSES uses a conductive glove connected by a wire to the pruning shears.
  • Wireless eliminates this wire, but requires the use of a specific conductive glove. It is highly dependent on external factors such as humidity.
  • Contactless, on the other hand, is wireless and requires no conductive glove. It automatically detects the proximity of the opposite hand thanks to innovative on-board technology. It eliminates all the limitations of the other two devices: there are no wires and no dependence on external constraints.
Yes, three sizes of bubble are available and can be adjusted via the INFACO mobile app or directly on the pruning shears, to adapt to the laterality, experience and habits of each pruner.
Yes, it’s particularly effective for green pruning and is ambidextrous, offering the same ergonomics to right- and left-handed users.
Yes, Contactless can be fitted to all F3020s from March 2022. The option is available from INFACO distributors.
By October 2025, the Contactless reinforced security system had already won 8 medals :
